Living Room

Creating a Cozy Space to Relax in

Some may say the kitchen is the heart of the home, but personally I believe the living room is. This is the place that you can relax in, enjoy a hot drink, and hang out with the people you love the most.

Since this room is where you spend your leisure time, you should make it as comfortable and relaxing as possible. I think the best way to do that is by having a rustic look to the space. Adding in some sort of wood element like the floors, tables, or even wall art will transform the space for the better.

Lounge Furniture

The furniture you choose is the most important thing because it’s an expensive purchase that you’ll have for a long time. You should choose a couch that can fit 4+ people, depending on the space available. Choosing furniture that is neutral in tone creates a nice base for the room. It allows you to change your design up whenever you want. This is because you can easily get new throw pillows, blankets, and rugs at a lower price than a new furniture set.

Add a unique coffee table to your living room. This is something that you will use daily, it fills empty space, and you’ll need a place to set your cup of coffee in the morning.

Decor is Everything!

Now that you have the base of your living room set up, it’s time to have some fun decorating. This is when you can add your own style to a room. Decor is everything from throw pillows, stylish rugs, candles, wall art, and even the ways you choose to add lighting.

There are so many ways to go about decorating your space. You just have to find your style and go from there. You could have a modern living room with rustic elements or vise versa. It is easy to blend two styles together as long a you know what those two styles are, and you can’t go overboard with one and not the other. It is all about balance.

Rustic wall art will warm up your living room while giving off a farmhouse vibe. You can add rustic wall art and furnishing to a modern space to warm it up as well. Adding shiplap to your living room will also give off a warm rustic feel.

Fireplace Mantle Decor

If you are blessed enough to have a fireplace in your living room; take advantage of decorating that bad boy! Add a wooden mantle for character and charm. The open frame look is something I am obsessed with. it is a country chic look, and you can diversify it through layering.
